CSASS (Chester Sexual Abuse Support Service) are a charity helping those affected by sexual abuse & violence, empowering them to make positive choices for their future.

This important Chester-based charity has recently moved location and we were asked to provide a small grant of £1000 to help make their new counselling area into a comfortable & private environment.  Our grant was also used to provide equipment for new staff members.  Both the counsellors and the clients have said what a difference it has made to have a cosy and welcoming space for their sessions.

A recent campaign “Men in short skirts” was launched by CSASS, as part of a global movement, to raise awareness around sexual violence and shift focus away from victim-blaming.

Ali Pickard, Centre Manager, said: ‘We had fun whilst conveying a very serious message around sexual violence: it is never the fault of the victim. Our charity is dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual abuse, men and women, their families, friends and partners, and we see every day the impact sexual violence has on people’s lives’.
