WHAG (Women’s Housing Action Group) have received a donation from the Williams Family Foundation to help their families over Christmas 2014.
Kirsty Rhodes, CEO of WHAG said:
“The Williams Family Foundation agreed to support us with providing some treats for our children and parents at Christmas. We are very keen for children to feel safe and their stay with us as pleasant as possible, so we try to make the experience as ‘normal’ as we can. We attempt to replicate what is done in many homes. This is also important for parents as some of the mothers and fathers we work with don’t have positive childhood memories and so struggle to make those memories for their children. With the help of the Williams Family Foundation we have been able to provide; Christmas eve boxes for children and mothers, that contained items such as pyjamas, slippers, reindeer food and a book. The children will also enjoy a Christmas eve supper and watch a DVD together. The Foundation have also sponsored a Christmas Party with face painting and a visit from Santa as well as providing new equipment for the playroom and teenage area which will be long lasting and benefit children in the months and years to come.”
